Apparition | Fine Art Print

Design

"Apparition" calls on the essence of the Huldra from Scandinavian folklore.

"Many legends in folklore tell us about the spirits that exist in the old forests scattered across Europe. One such spirit is the Huldra, a female forest dweller from Scandinavian folklore. Stories about the spirit vary and tales of mischief and seduction are often attributed to the Huldra, but who will ever really know her true intentions? At the very least she is a reminder of the wild and untamed forces inhabiting the deepest part of the forest."

As these are archival quality fine art prints please handle them with care, preferably only touching the edges and we recommend mounting them in a frame behind glass.

About The Artist

Annemieke van Barlingen, known as Blue Fern Arts, is a Belgium-based traditionally inspired multi-media artist. Her illustrations and paintings guide the viewer into realms of folklore and mythology. One can easily find themselves lost in the layers of story and symbolism that wind themselves through her original pieces. However, Annemieke’s artistry expands beyond illustration into craftwork, where she flexes her talents as a bookbinder, seamstress, and costume designer.

You can see all of Annemieke's work available on Northern Fire here
