Ragnarok Mjolnir | Hand Printed Fine Art

Design

As one of the children of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, Jormungandr was cast into the ocean of Midgard by Odin. He grew so large he encircled the earth, until he was biting his own tail.

During Ragnarok, the god Thor will battle the great serpent Jormungandr, and neither will survive the encounter.

In this artwork by Dyrs Hjarta Art, you can see their final great battle as Thor raises his hammer Mjolnir to strike down the beast. But his victory was short lived, as Thor was himself defeated by the poison of the Midgard serpent.

About The Artist

Gloria Notarangelo, known in her work as Dyrs Hjarta Art, commands attention with her bold linework and traditional methods of dotwork. Her knowledge of Nordic artistry allows her to create imagery based on the historical artifacts she has admired over the years, bringing to life traditional styles and symbolism in order to tell stories through her work. To friends and family she is known as a nurturing plant-lover, though she is most often wielding a tattoo gun as a full-time professional artist with Sacred Knot Tattoo in North Wales.
