Anglo-Saxon art is known for its intricate animal motifs; taking inspiration from creatures both real and mythological. This design is inspired by the detailed and complex knotwork patterns found in this artwork.

The Sutton Hoo ship burial is widely speculated to be the final resting place of King Raedwald - ruler of the Saxon kingdom of East Anglia. The site also contained some of the most significant finds of the age, and challenged the established understanding of Saxon culture.

Nadine from Nordurljós Art has taken the detailed and complex knotwork patterns featured on the gold belt buckle found at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, UK and crafted them into a wearable form.

Our pins are crafted in solid metal with enamel detailing and a sturdy pin for security of closure and longevity.
