The Sun Ship | Fine Art Painting
Sorry, currently out of stock
Design
This design by Villkat Arts depicts the Sun Ship so often seen in Bronze Age Scandinavian lore. Ash has used black, white, and grey to create a layered looking design based on the petroglyphs and etchings depicting the sun myth.
The mythology can be tracked upon artifacts from the time period. It follows a snake, fish, horse, and ship as they carry the sun through its cycle. During the day, the sun can be seen dragged by the horse, while during the night, it is pulled under the water with the assistance of the serpent.
