Mind Trollcross | Art Print for Charity
Design
Dylan Parry from Fiendish Forge has been creating a number of pieces for us at the Northern Fire studio and has used his skills to raise money for a local mental health charity.
This print was inspired by his work and created by Ash, also known as Villkat Arts, in collaboration with Dylan and Sean's vision for the trollcross.
He explains more below:
"We are proud to release this print in time for mental health awareness week. This is a design that has been made in collaboration with Villkat Arts, which we are eternally grateful for. I have wanted to raise money for a mental health charity for a long time and thanks to this collaboration, I have finally been able to see that wish come true.
All money raised with every sale of this print will be supporting a local mental health charity that has helped me through some difficult times in my life. We all know someone affected by mental illness, whether it's us, or a loved one. And without getting too personal, this is an issue I have lived with from a very young age and I am so happy and proud to be in a position where i can help others by raising money for a charity close to my heart."
The design of the print is based on that of a troll cross, which represents a talisman of protection and safety from evil forces. The runes along the outside of the pendant write out 'your story isn't over yet', which goes in line with the central design of the semicolon. The semicolon is used as a symbol of strength and solidarity for those struggling with mental illness that began as Project Semicolon, (@projsemicolon on Instagram).
We have chosen to support the Conwy branch of the charity.
In their words:
Conwy Mind who is here to support better mental health. They are a local, independent charity that work across Conwy County providing free services to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing. They provide support calls, guided self-help programmes, counselling, community groups and hubs. About The Artists
Known as Villkat Arts in his tattoo work, Ash is celebrated globally for his ability to communicate the shamanistic and spiritual components of the ancient world through his artistry. With a focus on Celtic and Nordic symbolism, Ash’s intention and energy shines through in each of his works, creating a connection between the viewer (or wearer) and the depth of meaning within these art styles. The journey of re-discovering his Northern European heritage is part of Ash’s artistic journey and can be seen in his woodwork, pyrography, painting, and tattoo work.
