Bindrunes in Pyrography | Wooden Notebook Commission

Design

For a limited time, Nordurljós Art will be taking commissions for customised and completely unique Bindrunes, which she will hand burn into the cover of a wooden covered ring-bound notebook using the ancient craft of pyrography.

The rune/runes of your choice will be framed by Nordic knotwork (as shown in the images), and the finished design will be sealed using a solvent free wood varnish for protection and longevity of your notebook.

  

Material & Make

These notebooks are bound between solid wooden covers and come with two options for sizes. They are bound with a sturdy metal ring binding and the paper inside is unlined. There are two sizing and binding options (see below!).

Once the order is received, we will contact you via email to confirm the details of the commission. Nadine will want to know the rune or bindrune of your choice, but if you can't decide, you can give her the details of what you would like the piece to represent so that she can design one for you with the proper intent.

After this, we will send a digital draft of the design for you to look over, and with your approval, Nadine will begin crafting. Order times will vary depending on the project and workload on the artist, but on average, we expect the item to be ready to ship within 1-2 weeks.

About The Artist

Nordurljós Art channels her passion for history and artwork into her crafts, which range from wood-burned commissions to tattoo designs for the Sacred Knot studio. Though she focuses primarily on Viking Age art styles, she has been known to create Celtic pieces from the Iron Age as well.

Size & Dimensions

We are able to offer these notebook commissions in two sizes, as either A5 (14.8 x 21 cm / 6 x 8.25 inches) or A4 (21 x 29.7 cm / 8.3 x 11.7 inches).

Please note, the A4 notepad is bound on the short edge of the paper as shown in the images.
